The New Hampshire Insurance Adjuster's Seminar
April 18, 2007, Concord, NH - Attorneys at the law firm of Getman, Schulthess & Steere, P.A. were presenters at the New Hampshire Insurance Adjuster's seminar at the Grappone Center in Concord, New Hampshire. Several hundred insurance adjusters were in attendance.
Attorney Larry Getman's topic of discussion was "Developments in New Hampshire Law." More specifically, Attorney Getman presented areas regarding case law affecting liability and coverage and new statutes affecting each area. Attorney John Fagan provided information regarding "Third-Party Practice: Indemnification, Contribution, and the DeBenedetto Case." John addressed Express Contractual, Implied Contractual and Commons Law Indemnification, New Hampshire Contribution Law, and the DeBenedetto case and the allocation of fault to settling parties or other parties not sued. Attorney Steve Schulthess addressed the topic of "Handling Suspicious Claims." Covered under this topic were fraud types, law regulating fraud, investigative fraud, reporting fraud to the New Hampshire Insurance Department, examinations under oath, denial of claims for fraud and non cooperation, and remedies for fraud. Regarding Worker's Compensation, Attorney Schulthess spoke about developments in workers' compensation law and the problems and pitfalls of claims handling.
